Digital Signage

Digital Signage is the use of digitally powered signs such as plasma display panels, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), kiosk stations, and computer monitors to replace and enhance traditional media. Digital signage is new media and has much more in common with the web than the static sign that it replaces. Digital display networks get the message across in a way that static posters and billboards never could. Large, flat panel, plasmas and LCD screens are now everywhere, and they are grabbing advertising share from more traditional forms of advertising.

More than half of captive audiences in various digital signage installations report an overall better user experience; be it in the store, or on the train, or in the airport. Digital signage actually doubles message retention and brand awareness. At the right time and in the right place, consumers are happy to get more information, and businesses are generally happy to oblige.

Digital signage is a win-win-win opportunity for businesses. Retail businesses win once by selling advertising space and again by selling more products. With 2/3 of the purchasing decisions made in the store, digital signage can increase sales anywhere between 3 and 300%, depending on the item. Digital signage is penetrating train stations, subways, airports, rail lines, bus stations and other transportation hubs around the world, simplifying the travel experience. Arrival and departure times, as well as announcements and messages, can be sent to specific gate locations, and updated frequently as needed. In case of delays or other changes, digital signage solutions have proven to be an important asset. Tourist information centers can display maps and directions with interactive kiosks.

Service oriented businesses such as Hotels, Resorts, Cruise Ships, Restaurants, Night Clubs and Bars can use screen networks to broadcast helpful, targeted messages and advertisements to clients, members and guests. Interactive kiosks strategically placed throughout venues offer services such as directions and reservations, resort amenities and convention and meeting schedules.

Hotels can display schedules and locations of business meetings, upcoming event venues, and room vacancies, updated for each location by the hour. Restaurants can display their menu specials on screen and program the server to change them at specific hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

One of the fastest-growing outlets for digital signage resides within the financial world as bank products and service programs can be demonstrated visually via digital screens including interactive kiosk technology and in-store broadcast networks. Financial institutions can further brand themselves as trusted sources of information as consumers navigate their way through the challenging decisions of money management.

Digital Signage offers a highly powerful and flexible communication method for campus environments. Schools, Colleges and Universities can all benefit from the real-time messaging capabilities and high impact content of a professionally installed Digital Signage system. In the following case studies in this section we invite you to learn more about how Digital Signage plays role in the Education field.
